Privacy Policy

The Waterfall Map (thewaterfallmap.com) is a static, read-only reference site. We do not run a login system, store user accounts, or process payments. This policy describes the limited data that is collected as a byproduct of serving any website.

Data we collect

We do not directly collect personally identifiable information. We do not use contact forms that store submissions, require registration, or set first-party cookies of our own.

The following data may be collected automatically by the infrastructure that delivers this site:

• Cloudflare (infrastructure & analytics). This site is served through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may log IP addresses, request timestamps, browser type, and referring URL at the network edge for security and abuse-prevention purposes. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, aggregate page-view counts and performance metrics are collected without cookies and without fingerprinting individual users. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdSense (advertising, when active). If display advertising is enabled on this site, Google AdSense may set cookies and use similar technologies to serve ads and measure ad performance. • Affiliate links. Links to third-party retailers (Amazon, Booking.com, etc.) may use tracking parameters that allow those services to attribute a referral to this site. Those services have their own privacy policies. No personal data is sent by us to affiliate networks — the tracking occurs only if you click a link and the destination service sets its own cookies.

This site does not set first-party cookies. Third-party cookies may be set by Google AdSense (if advertising is active) as described above.

Third-party content

Waterfall photos are served from Wikimedia Commons or Cloudflare R2. No tracking pixels or analytics tags are embedded in those images.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-purpose geographic reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not collect personal data directly, there is typically no data to access, correct, or delete. For data held by Cloudflare or Google in connection with this site, please refer to those services' privacy policies and opt-out tools linked above.

California residents: this site does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add new features (advertising, affiliate integrations, etc.). The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
